150 Yamaha Trim Motor Replacement

The trim motor on my old school (~1985) 150 Yammie is pretty much shot. The up switch on my binnacle somehow got stuck in the up position after parking the boat and I didn't realize it for a couple of hours. Burned it up pretty good. It works ok trimming up until it hits that higher gear and then just spins its wheels.

Anyways, I was wondering what all goes into replacing the motor. Does the whole powerhead, etc. have to come off or can you do it without major removal of parts?
Also, any ideas where I can order a rebuilt one for a good price?

I just replaced the one on my 1994 Johnson and all I had to do was knock out the pin holding up the hydrualic's swing them out to get to the back bolts. I'm sure your Yamaha is different. My V was sold when I did the job so I went with the cheapest motor I could find but it seemed very solid and was not made out of metal. you well need to undo all the bolts on one side of the side plates, and the big bolt that holds the steering tube, then will have to beat the carp out of it and. maybe some heat.Also remove the cable.
This will allow you to remove the pump.

Mine came apart pretty easy, and i did it on thge boat, but some v20's need to remove or at least take out the bolts and slide motor over on transom to get the steering cable out. And might b better and easier gto remove the motor

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm probably going to wait a couple of months before I start the project, I just wanted to do a little research first.

If anyone else has any suggestions on where to buy a new or used pump, I'd appreciate it.
