Default Carb versus $ stroke

i know we have all discussed this topic on 4 strokes versus DI versus carbed two strokes.
i was looking at factory engine performance reports today and i found this and i thought it was interesting.

I haven't got that with a 50hp on a 15' trihull!!
From what I remember I'd get about 28 miles out of a 6 gallon tank with it.
That's 4.6 mpg.
Man, I'ves got's ta get's me some of dat stuff!!

its a very rare scenario. but the boats are light with not alot of fuel. I thought it was interesting that the carbed engine was marginally lest fuel efficient but the top speed was alot faster and it planed off a half second sooner.
