Default 2 Die as Boat Flips In The Chesapeake Bay

Not sure what these guys where thinking but 6 guys headed out today in a 18' Aluminum tracker type boat in 3 to 4 foot seas. They did not make it very far before the boat flipped sending them into the 45 deg. water. All people where rescued but two died before help could arrive. Sad to see this happen and prayers go out to all involved. For the guys here fishing this time of year in cold waters think reel hard before leaving the docks. Stripers are not worth the risk and I am assuming that's what they weere headed out to do with were they left.

I was fishing off Smith Island (Eastern shore) Tuesday and ran in after the rain and wind started too blow in the late afternoon. Let's just says it was a little "sporty" even in my 246 CCP. Can't image six people out in the bay in a 18 footer the following morning with gust out of the north in the upper 20's.

I see it here all the time, five or six guys in a low gunwale aluminum boat out in Raritan bay in 2-4 foot swells, very large boats buzzing by, usually they are foreign guys and sometimes they got the kids in there too. Scares the crap out of me, I move away cause I know something is going to happen and I don't want to see it.
Go sit on a pier, a jetty, in a head boat, have a beer relax, LIVE.

Heard on the news last night that the two men who died one was 89 and the owner of the boat 67 (I maybe off a year or two). Sad to hear they died but this was two tough old men to even think of going out in a boat at that age and how cold it was. Then you throw the conditions in and its hard to believe at that age they were still wanting to go fishing. I know it cost them their life but I have to believe they died doing what they loved to do. It also said they make this family trip every year from Arizona to come here and go striper fishing. The boat was an 18 foot tracker.
