Default The V20 Had A very Bad Week

Well as I posted on the fishing area we went striper fishing last Friday and the good news was we pulled in two nice stripers. The Bad News. On the way to the ramp my bimini top and enclosure blew off my boat. It was fine one minute and the next it was off dragging behind the boat. Something had to break because of how the whole thing just ripped right off and I'm thinking either a strap or a pole holding up the bimini broke . Its pretty much toast now and I will probably only replace the top as the encloser is not used very much and very expensive to replace. The good new was is that one strap did hold and prevented the top from flying back into trafic on the interstate.

So when I got home I cleaned up the boat I put on the cover on and called it a day. Last night the winds kicked up and we had some very strong gust blowing through. I looked outside and now my cover is all torn up and is toast along with my enclosure. It was getting old so that was not a surprise but to have both go in the same week sucks.

Does anyone know of a good place to order another cover for the boat?

Sucks big time. I feel your pain with my damn motor issues.

Was the top a custom V20 one or just a bow rider/cuddy cabin one?

The enclosure was custom built for the boat and snapped to the bimini and the to the sides of the boat. The front snapped to the bimini and then had straps that conected it to the floor with a zipper door. The front was not on only the sides but I had towed the boat like this several times before without any issues. The front straps did have a screw that went into the framing of the bimini which kept them in place and I noticed one had been ripped out. I'm thinking that went causing the rest to give out. The cover was just a standard 20' cc cover which was getting old so it was getting weak and that was not a surprise when it tore last night. I'm thinking it was 6 to 8 years old which is pretty good for a cover. I Think.

Genesis bought a cover fromn Boatcoversdirect.com and seems to like it. I had my bimini fly off in the rain and get run over by two cars and dragged by the third. I went back to get it after the coast was clear, fixed it up, and I'm still running it today.

I did not realize how bad of a week I had until I started pricing covers and binimi tops. I think I'm going to just buy a new pole for the bimini and patch the 2 small rips. For the cover I'm going to just buy a tarp and cover her up. I realy only need it covered in the spring and fall when my neighbors tree is dropping stuff on her. I'd but new ones but I'm in the market for something new and I don't think I 'd make much back much money for having new ones.
