take a hole saw larger than the 3 *hole mess now and open it up but do not cut all the way threw just cut in about 7/16 of and inch and then take the hole saw and cut out a plug of 7/16 inch plywood and glass into the hole. by not cutting all the way threw and leaving bottom glass and wood then glassing in a piece on top you will have a super strong patch. in order to use a hole saw easily just slide a piece of wood under the deck then screw a piece on the top side of the deck into the bottom piece without running the screws into either the deck nor the path of the hole saw that way you will have a pilot to hole the hole saw centered.

Thanks Skools but i think i'll just put a hatch cover over it. just incase the next guy wants the seat back. The rug stopper works great for keeping coolers from moving on the sea's...
