Hi & welcome to the most informative website on the Wellcraft V-20/V-21. I see you live in Va Beach..I am just north of you on the Eastern Shore. I'll be enclosing my V-21 Sunday in hopes of snagging a few cows in our beautiful Chesapeake Bay in the coming weeks. Lots of knowledge here so feel free to seek it out. Dave

this is my first seaon striper fishing, so i'm still learning. been out to the hrbt 3 times in the past month and only brought 2 fish home the first time we went. working on saving some money up now to get my enclosure repaired here soon so i don't freeze my *** off out there. have not made it out to the cbbt yet, but hoping to soon, but i know nothing about that area out there. so hopefully it wo't be too hard to figure it out. |

3 ways here just like said, I use a lighter line on the sinker so it will just break off with out losing everything else.

He was talking about trolling over the tunnels which are covered with rocks. They run from 10 to 70 feet under the water so you have to ajust your line as you fish them. He is probably letting out his lines and then just trolling but with the different depths its easy to loose the rigs. Is the function of the side planers to spread the lines out from the boat? I've heard of them but have never seen them used.

One thing about planers...since the line goes out to the board and then straight back, this can sometimes diminish the pressure of the line's hook-setting ability...so when a fish hits a planer line, I always wind down and SET it hard w/a little heavier drag...

Yeah...I like the look of the earlier models too...classic lines that are hard to beat...but I would swap mine for a later model inna snap...the belly tank(w/ 20 more gals of fuel), more flotation and self-bailing hulls of the later models are no-brainers in terms of improvements...
