Blue, you might want to check what party was in office and got us involved in Viet Nam. Can you say Democrats (Kennedy and Johnson). 53,000 US servicemen dead. I think the congressional majority was Democratic. It's what happens when you let congress run the war and not the Generals.

Im not getting into it heavy, but as far as corn being the answer...ITS NOT. It affects way too much...it may help on gas but you pay out the azz for lots of other stuff. Farmers are certainly feeling it....I payed out the azz for seeds and fetilizer this year to plant food plots for deer....roughly double compared to years past. Even liquor has gone up due to distillery costs for corn....God help me if I become a drunk.

Any conflict is hell on the civilian populations, innocent victims, I would certainly not argue that Blue.
Saddam Hussein killed more people than that when he came to power, and over the many years he was in power many times that died.
They did not die in an effort to free a society, they died in a dictators power hungry lust for absolute power.
Vietnam is not our best work, the advancement of communism was the issue of the day and we did apparently what we thought we needed to do. I lost friends and spent my teen age years fearing what was going to happen to me as fellow students went off and died.
My point to you is this, when you say things in the way you did it implies that the US desires or the troops ignore the possibility that innocents will perish. In fact we are one of the few nations in the history of this planet to make the issue of civilian loss paramount in our operations, even to the point where our troops are in jeapordy.
You will never avoid the loss of civilian life, as a matter of fact if you go to that area of the world and all over Africa many times that number perish constantly in struggles in which brutal men are in charge. I bet if you asked them if they wanted us to help you would hear the pleading from here.
Sorry as it is the nature of man on this planet is often brutal, you will have conflicts, you need to be strong, you need a wise and tough leader who has been in those trenches and knows what it means when you send our troops into harms way.
NoBama has not the slightest clue, all he has is a egotistical elitetist agenda and you might want to step away from the fray and reconsider who and what you want to be aligned with, and why.

I saw a bumper sticker a while back...

"Are you tired of this sh!t yet?"
Vote Libertarian!

I gave the middle finger to both the repubs and dems and early voted for Bob Barr. We're screwed with a penis big enough for an elephant to feel it on so many levels tuesday.

Vote often on November 4th!

We realy need to get control back...it won't happen over nite, but if we'll just forget about party affiliation for a while and vote OUT the incumbent, Dem or Rep, good or bad, it'll send the message we need to send...that we still have control and we're tired of bein' SKRUED from both sides of the aisle...instead of the divisivness of us vs them being Dems vs Reps, the us vs them needs to become us vs the lawyers who want to become career politicians and fill their bank accounts from our pockets...that's where the real redistribution of income is happening...

I'm voting democratic because I'm not going to give my Aunt or step brother a penny of my money.
