may not be any fishing for me. Went out floundering this morning with a buddy, spent 4 hours on the water. Caught 5 flounder, 1 Keeper 18". started to head home and she went from cruising 3700 RPM to 2200 RPM quick, kept losing power, and then shut off. Before I had a chance to think, looked at the gauges and OH CHIT!!!!! 220 degrees (170 normal). boat shut itself off and turned around to STEAM everywhere. Then a big loud splash and Anti freeze went blowing and spraying everywhere. Well when the motor cover finally cooled down enought to take her off.....BLEW and I mean BLEW the main 2" hose from the block to the thermostat in half. So i am guessing the thermostat stuck shut and the hose was the weak link when the water in the block reached boiling stage....
![]() ![]() ![]() So the coast guard was right behind me doing a safety inspection and they thought we were on fire...due to the steam. well they were nice enough to tow me a mile to the marina.... gettin her fixed should be pretty easy, but just hope there was no engine damage. ![]() ![]() ![]() any thoughts from the mechanics??? got to get her fixed soon the tourney starts on Saturday morning....
