Default Best flattie yet for me

I met up with a good friend Danny to YAK for our ACFA tourney for this month. ACFA is my local inshore saltwater club we are in. We got to DI at day break and waited on Tony to meet up with us.

Water was slick and it was overcast as well. I liked it cause it stayed cool for a good while after daylight.

We set out and made our way around to a few spots before I located a good school of big white trout and schoolie specks. I called Danny over and he got in on the action. We boated a couple dozen whites and a speck here and there. Danny had a hunch to try a top water. Here is a speck he got on top water at 10am...

We hit a deeper hole in search of a later bite when Tony landed two nice trout that were 3+. Both looked to be fat with roe so they were released to fight another day.

Here is one.

Not long after this my GULP pogey found its home in a behemoth flatty that surfaced next to the boat and made me dirty up my underwear.
I paniced but still managed to net and bear hug him until he calmed down. Danny was laughing at me from the bear hug and screaming like a little girl. I got his azz in the ice chest and TIED the lid shut.

We fished a bit longer and I was tired from the heat. Danny left some trout biting but was ready for a cold one and some shade so we made it to the weigh in. It took first place for flounder in this months tourney and is 3rd for our big fish for the year currently.

First time ever done in a YAK baby!!
