Ok guys heres my question. I have restored many boats in the past, but never one this big/heavy. How in the hell do I paint he bottom of this thing?!! Also, how do i work on the trailer...i sure cant turn it over. Has anyone dropped one in the yard...I have done this with a 18cc Wellcraft, but I played the devil getting it back on the trailer, not to mention I tore up a #3500 winch doin it.So what have you guys done...get to it on the trailer the best you can...put it on blocks (I really dont want to be under that beast on blocks) :o :o..or what. Thanks guys.

A set of good solid blocks will do. When it comes time to put it on the trailer, you'll want a set on each of the most aft and outer points possible (on the two rear corners under the transom). Then a third set under the keel at a point just ahead of the middle of the boat. Of course the boat, when on these blocks must be just higher than the rollers of the trailer. Line up the trailer in front of the keel blocks from the front and nice a parallel until the rear most cross member of the trailer just contacts the keel blocks. Then, with a hydraulic bottle jack just a bit ahead of that rear most crossmember, jack the front of the boat until it is up off the first set of keel blocks. The place those keel blocks in front of that cross member and lower the boat onto them. Remover the jack, and back the trailer to the next crossmember and repeat the process until the trailer is at least 2/3 of the way under the boat. You shouldn't even have used the winch up to this point. Once the trailer is far enough under the boat, lower the boat onto the trailer rollers. You can go ahead and clip the winch onto the bow eye, then using the winch, the trailer will be pulled under the boat to the rear blocks. Jack up under the keel in back, and remove the blocks. The boat can then be winched the remaining distance to the winch post.
There you have it. it's really not that difficult and should only take 30 minutes or so. Good luck with it.

I just take it to the ramp and put in the water and work on the trailer!! I have a small genarator that runs my grinder!!
Painting that is easy!! 1. you take and leave the boat back a foot or so on the trailetr. You might need a bottle jack to push it back if you forgot when at the ramp. 2. get the kids dressed in there worse clothes and have them paint it for you!! When dry crank up on to the trailer the rest of tht way and have them paint were the rollers were, Finished and you didn't get a drop on you!! I resized your pic a bit if you want to use it.

awesome Mac I been trying to do that, Thanks. Do you guys have your boats painted with antifoul or what cause ur talkin bout the kids painting it and I was thinking of spraying the bottom with Polyeurethane just like the top. Get it nice and slick.I wouldnt be opposed to anti-foul cause it would be easier, but I was told it will turn weird colors if not left in water. What kinda paint do yall use?

there is no need for anti foul if you are not keeping it in the water!!
It will go faster with out it!! I did anti foul because the last owner had about 10 coats on there and for me to strip it was going to be HELL!!! Your welcome for the resize!! Just took about 1 min to do!! Later
