mine did the exact same thing, I sold it before the time came to pull it apart. Tell you my thoughts, I think the vent is marginal in size to begin with and probably is not located well on the tank, especially when on a trailer and tilted back a little. Mine would blow fuel out the vent if I went to fast with the pump.
I was going to do two things which I believe would have taken care of the problem, first change out the vent fuel line and insure no blockage at the fitting, second I would relocate the vent thru hull higher on the top of the gunnel just forward of where the current vent fitting is located. I also would insure that the bend in the vent line wasnot enough to allow air to escape without forcing fuel thru the line first
