I'm not even sure what the white fuzzy material is that covers the interior of my cabin but it looks and smells nasty. I realize if I peel it off I will be looking at brown glue so what alternitives do I have? I was thinking of using white durabak bedliner to coat the inside but I'm not sure if that would be a good choice. What have you guys done???

Haven't done it either but very interested in what others have done. I really like when boats have a gelcoat ceiling as it is easy to keep clean.

It would be tough to get that glue off. What I would do is buy the thin marine or indoor/outdoor carpet and redo it with that. Won't be to much money and shoule last a long time and look great.

Yeah, take it off and install some nice shag carpet; that would look cool. And don't forget to pick up some fuzzy dice to hang from the doorway or maybe some strands of beads to hang. Pick up a nice used 8 track player, a copy of Sammy Johns' "Chevy Van", and you're ready to go!
Just kidding... But I would do what Willy has suggested. Put some newer stuff up there. I don't know why they used the stuff that they did... it tends to hold water and mildew... Gelcoat would have made much more sense...

I love my faux lambs wool cuddy cabin headliner....just kidding. I've thought about pulling it out and then painting the hell out of the ceiling.

Carver boat company uses a neat product for their headliners, its a plastic strip that you mount either cross ways or fore and aft along with paralell strips. Each strip has a small opening that runs the whole length. You cut vynil headliner material to loosly fit the are between each strip, and roll the edge into the opening with a wheel that looks like a pizza cutter. The more you roll it, the tighter it pulls, till it pulls the material tight between each strip. I've been wanting to try this on my V, just haven't had time to scew with it this time of year, I have to get everyone elses boat ready before I can work on mine.

Or you can do what MJ did and upholster the whole thing in leather for those special engagements he had

As I was reading this I was thinking of how I did my cabin! Between fur, feathers and leather, I am not sure what I like the best? the rope lights have to functions!
Fur on my behind is nice, feathers tickling my, well you know is great! and the feel of the leather strap, well lets just say its orgasmic !! ![]() I have to try the mirror next!!
