Genesis, you are talking about an I/O arn't you(just making sure), if it is an inline 6 mercruiser or OMC that uses a GM 250 engine, you should have just a mechanical fuel pump on the engine. If it does have an electric pump, then someone added it. I would have to see the set up to comment on it(pics would help). Done correctly, it shouldn't be any problem, done inccorectly, it could be a major fire hazard. Now if this is a V6 engine, that changes everything. Once again, pics would help a lot. get some more info posted and I see what I can come up with
