Default Old V, need Advice

I picked Up a new Hull This weekend, I not sure if it's worth the work.

It's a 1970 steplift. The Transom is good but the floor has some questionable spots that will have to be fixed within the next 2 years.
The thing that kinda bothers me is that it looks like the hull has been flexing alot. The gelcoat has alot of cracks underneath. I doubt they are major structural damage but either way there's been alot of flexing going on. What do you guys think?

Congrats on the new hull;

Where are the spider cracks in the floor or on the rounded upper edges of the hull (gunnel area)?

Default Cracks

These are actually not on the floor. They are on the underneath side side of the hull. They are on the ribs that run from the bow to the stern, and there are also alot where the V meets the side wall(close to where the water line would be).

Sounds like your stringers are flexing or soft. Not to uncommon on the older hulls to have stringer issues.

Welcome aboard Burt Reynolds,
in my opinion, any V is worth fixing.

The more you do yourself, the better you will know your boat.

I agree with others and it sounds like you may have stringer issues. When you decide to take a look you can take the boat apart by removing the inner liner of the boat. This way you can get to all of the stringers without cutting up the boat and also repair the flooring from the under side of the floor without cutting up the top decking. I took mine apart when we replaced the transom and I'd bet if you have stringer and flooring issues you may also have transom issues at some point if not already. It could also be your flooring is flexing due to stringer issuesa and the flooring could be fine.

Default General Info

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that you can only get to the stringers by sawing the floor out. The top piece just goes over the gunnwhale and down about 6 inches. The Slash well and the controls are part of it as well.

Is this (small cracks) common on older boats ?, If I fix the floor and stop the flexing, will I be able to fix all the small cracks or will they open back up? Could all the Flexing have caused damage to the laminant under?

I know that is alot of questions but any help would be appreciated
