I vote for the honda civic as these are tough little cars. Here is a quick story of what my friends went through back some years ago.

We went to a party and the guy lived on a street that will flood from the river when we have a northeastern. He left his car there and over night the winds picked up to 40mph and it was a high tide early that morning. This was a cold front moving in and his car got flooded up to the steering wheel. He figured it was totaled as it allready had over 200,000 miles on the car. That night the water frooze with his car still with water up to his seats. Two days latter the ice melted and the water went down. I took him to see the car and just for a laugh he tried starting it up. Yep, it fired up but was running very rough. We cleaned out a few things and it seemed to run pretty good. I followed him home and he did his best to dry out the interior and I told him that the altinator and starter would go very soon. He ended up driving that car around town for two years and never replaced a thing except for an oil change. Finally the starter went so he decided it was time for a newer car. He gave the car to a friends son and I think he drove it around for another year before it just fell apart.
