WOW Lee, they were lucky ta get out alive!! Got me scared now. I was thinking about taking my V out there this summer. I guess if I do Ill have ta pick my days and watch the weather.I took it to Nags Head last June and went out in Kitty Hawk Bay but never got down to Oregon Inlet. I know it can get really nasty really quick!
Awe you'll be fine. Just use some common sense and do your research on the wind and sea forecasts. Stay inside and catch flounder if you have to. Nobody needs to be out during a small craft advisory. I've ran that inlet several times in my V21. I've also sat in the room and twiddled my thumbs before because we could not get out.
