Default towing question

Anyone here know the approximate weight of an 86 v-20 with an old 200 2- stroke plus that of a dual axle trailer? i live in pennsylvania and i own a 2002 jeep liberty and thinking about towing it to the outer banks which is about an 8 hour drive. I think it may be a strain on the jeep. Anybody have any input? The manual says it can handle 6000 lbs.

Default Re: towing question

Just a WAG:

Boat dry weight about 1950 lbs
Motor 380 lbs
Trailer 750 lbs (???)
Full tank of gas (60 gal) 520 lbs
Everything else (batteries, rigging, fishing stuff) 500 lbs

Total approx. 4100 lbs

I used to pull my old V-20 with twin 115's all over the place with a first gen Ford Explorer. You could definitely feel the boat back there. I've got a 4X4 Suburban that handles it nicely.
