They wouldn't do a whole lot unless you pulled your engine down and added some compression and a bit porting. Your 86 would probably get a little benefit stock, but not alot. These are the carbs that the MERC killers want to use.

Thanks!! I am thinking of having my other 225 that came with the boat rebuilt from top to bottom so I have a new motor!!
I love to have a new E Tec!! But the cost and the fact that the back yard wrench like me would never be able to work on it turns me off!!

These carbs in the ad are actually larger than those that came on the 250 V-6. I can hear MJ now, GAS WHAT GAS
 ? The engine dun drank it all .
