I am planning a trip to Holden Beach the week after Easter to catch whatever will bite. Usually go Memorial Day weekend as well.

Also gonna try to get down there for 2 or 3 weeks over the summer. I would like to try to catch a tarpon, they say they are around the Fryingpan Shoals in the summer.

Also plan on sweetwater (as Willy says) fishing every chance I get.

For those of you unfamiliar with our state bird.

Wish I had a better picture of the "wings with teeth".
Only thing that makes them tolerable is, they like the taste of whitemeat yankees better.

1) Have you planned any fishing trips yet - where and for what?

2) Do you plan to target anything different this year than in years past?

3) If you could go fishing or lay in bed with your girl, which would you rather do?

Here are my answers:

1) Cape Hatteras, Memorial day weekend offshore dolphin, wahoo, tuna
2) Cobia, Tuna, trigger, sheepshead
3) Go fishing!
Hey I might be down in Nags Head on Memorial weekend and would love to take the boat off shore. I've been out 4 time in the V but sense the motor has a few more years on her I'm not up to running out alone. It adds safty for both of us and it would be fun making the run. Let me know what your plans are as we get closer to Memorial day. I'm sure I'll be down that weekend as my parents have a cottage around the 81/2 mile post in Nags Head.

Blue, sorry about the hijack of the thread.
1. Lower Lake George Fla. June 14-22 (willy should be busy elsewhere). Bream.
2. Anything, if I can hook it or stab it.
3. Don't matter what I'd rather do. Her favorite greeting to me, "don't you have something you can go kill or catch"?

Tsub, no problem. I liked the "wings with teeth pic." Never seen those before but they look gnarly.

Still, I'll let you know when I get down that way. We'll probably be heading out of Hatteras inlet, so it'd be a small drive for you but I bet you $5 we'll catch some good fish!

Emerald Isle, right outside of bogue inlet in mid July they are there. Saw them rolling there 2 years ago. It was cool. We were not prepared to throw at them.

1 - Nope - I'll know that I planned the trip when I step foot on the boat.

2 - Nope - Whatever I manage to hook, that's what I will catch.

3 - Lay in bed, I am just too lazy and work too hard during teh week to drag my *** out of bed.

Blue I was given a cottage to use that week so I will be down for MM weekend. I lucked out and was given a three story cottage right on the beach for the week. We will have a few friends down that weekend so I would have a crew of 3 to make the run. Ther's no problem towing to Hatteras so thats not an issue. As we get closer to that weekend lets talk and see if we can make it a trip.
