I had a once in a lifetime wierd event happen yesterday. I recoonnected with an old girlfriend via the internet a while back. We were together for 5 years when I lived in Los Angeles many years ago. She mentioned that her dad would be getting an honorary Academy award this year and that she and her sister would be at the ceremony. The wife and I never watch the Oscar's but we made a point of tuning in just in case we got a glimpse of Sue's dad. Alot of the awards don't actually get televised so I didn't think we'd actually see him. Late in the show he was introduced by Nicole Kidman. Robert Boyle walked to the podium at 98 years old with nothing more than a cane and a razor sharp mind. He gave a 3 minute speech during which they gave a couple of closeups of his family.

I got to see all of them. Pretty cool moment. Then we turned off the TV and went to bed. Still don't know (and don't care) which was best picture. By the way... she got fat.
