Default Full size teak swim platform

I am going to add a teak swim platform across the entire stern of my 1991 V20 cuddy with I/O this fall or winter. I already have a small teak platform, but my kids (ages 7-14) keep complaining they like the full swim platform I have on my 1985 20' Formula a lot better. Any suggestions as to how high I should mount it? The transom does not have a lot of height to it. I might need to cut a portion of the platform out so there is clearance for the outdrive. I am guessing I would want the lower edge of the platform to sit about 6" above the waterline. Again, any assistance would be appreciated.

seen some full platforms on I/O ski boats that have a piece that hinges in the midlle to allow clearance for the drive when its trimmed up, when its down, just flip the hinged piece over

nipper next time out pay particular attention to the affect your current platform has on the hull and wake at different speeds and trims, if it does not cause any problems you should be fine running your new one the same height across.

I like this solution...only I'd hinge it to the transom and put a piece of Starboard under the center section and let the drive push it up as it goes... ;D

i think it was Chapparell or Four Winns that used to do that, they've all gone integrated paltforms now, I liked the teak ones better personally

Thanks Willy. Great suggestion. I also love the suggestion about the starboard/hinge it to the transom and let the outdrive push it up when in the trailering position. I could then just bungy it down to the outdrive so it would not bounce around while being trailed. Y'all are the best!

just to clarify, the one I had seen hinged to one side, you just flip it all the way over when you put it all the way up, alos made easier when you are working on the drive
