Default Re: Mounting electronics

Bigshrimpin, I have a 89 V- Step and mounted A Simrad CP-32 color ploter 10"x6"x3"D to the right between steering wheel and gauge panel and angled slightly towards driver. does block looking straight on at fuel gauge a little but not a problem. Fish finder Lowerance X-85 mounted on top of console to left of compass angled at driver. Ray Marine 53 radio mounted to underside front deck right side close to bulk head and at slight angle to driver, speaker is mounted above tried to keep away from compass. Speaker and radio are mounted about were everyone else mounts fish finders on the right side. This lets me stretch Mic cord and clip on driver console. With sliding hatch cover (first section) I can have it back about 4" and see radio or close completely and keep all water of radio. This keeps everthing close , easy to use, and radio mic with DCS switch close at hand. Anyone MOUNTING ANYTHING NEAR YOUR COMPASS make sure it does not change you readings . You can have it adjusted ( Boxed) for some deviation. Crusher
