On the trailer go to your motor and tilt up, now grab the leg and lift up and down, If the transom is bad it will flex and make cracking noise.

That means new transom time!!

Now there might be a chance that after they put the bracket it on and tighten the bolts it squeezed the transom tight and the bracket is lose and needs to be adjusted??

The plate on the back is a jack plate and either they added the bracket for a 20" motor and went 25" and needed the extra highet, or they did not like the performance and wanted to lift the motor higer to help it out?

But do the transom test first and get back to us with Pic's!
