I trimmed my rail posts down as I like the look better. The mounts donot have to be removed or relocated. I cut the tubing leaving 5 1/2" on the front support and 3" on the middle support. slide the front and middle supports back in the mounts loosley, and then you will notice and mark where the rear end of the rail needs to be cut to once again fit in the rear mount. TIP:Tap rail with a rubber mallet to get it to seat back in mounts after trimming as it is a snug fit. ![]()

Looks darn good and I also like the windshield wiper. That's something I plan on adding on my V in the near future.

I like it also, looks like it would give you a clearer view while underway and still give something to hold onto if you have a rider up front. That taller rail has always been a footcatcher when i step forward. Also like the side cleats that you have, I put them on my Top Notch ... * * Forget the windshield wiper just another thing to break, just use rain X , works for me...*
*Like the Palm Tree Decal whats it say? * * * ** * Z

Oohh, I like that. You changed my mind about having bowrails.
Also like the rollers on the winch stand.

Schmahworld, like the bow rail a lot, looks good. I second the Rain X boats only, DON'T USE ON AUTOS glare at night from oncoming cars is realy bad, very hard to remove. Crusher

Hey thanks for the compliments guys! Its a pretty easy mod that looks nice and doesnt cost a nickel, just a little of your time. I never figured out what all that factory bow rail was about anyways. A little over kill there I think.
Zebra-- the palm tree sticker says "NO BAD DAYS" Every now and then I still have one... ;) reelapeelin -- I took off the sliding lid off about the second year I owned her. It just didnt work for me and was in the way with my anchor system that I have to use here on the columbia river. working my anchor got a whole bunch easier after removing it and having the snap top made to fit. Besides that I was constantly having to remind my buddies working anchor not to step on it. I still have it and the teak wood and guess I would sell it if anyones looking for one. Its in fine shape and I dont think I will ever use it again. I have all the bow cushions in perfect shape also. I dont use those either. Its all just sitting in the attic... |
