if it is a Volvo SX drive, it aligns just like the Mercruiser, if its an AQ, the gimbal bearing is made into the bell housing and the only alignment done when iinstalling the engine is to tighten up the pinch bolts evenly. Volvo has an alignment tool for the AQ's but most people just eyeball it
