Default Warning! This one is really painful to look at

!!!! Don't let this happen to you !!!!

Thought I share my latest really really stupid mistake and perhaps prevent someone from running into the same problem. I was recently attempting to face mount this chartplotter in the console of my other boat and was just about done. When I thought I check and make sure all the mounting bolts were good and snug one last time. That's when it all went south. I quickly found out the up left mounting bolt was too long. It ended up cracking the glass and killing 1/3 of the display.

Although not all is lost. I just got a replacement 10.4 inch NEC TFT lCD off Ebay for $19.99! So, in about a week I can try installing it again. This time with mounts bolts that are the right length.

Boy oh Boy - did I dodge that bullet or what!
