For our 33rd wedding anniversary, my wife surprised me with a trip to our friends lodge in Pulaski, NY.
She also set up a fishing trip on lake Ontario. The lodge we staid at is called Fox Hollow Lodge and I recommend it to any of you, it is right on the Salmon river, walking distance. They run charters for river fishing when the the run is on and charters in lake Ontario. Here's a link to their website: http://www.foxhollowsalmonriverlodge.com/index.html Now the reason I put this in the fishing section, it was a slow day on the lake, no radio chatter about catches, only talk was about no catch. Even watching other boats, no one was pulling anything in. Our guide, Jimmy, was all business, so he kept trying different lures, different depths, different directions, etc. Without him, I would not have caught this ten pound lake trout: ![]() or this 15 pound Salmon: ![]() Maybe it wasn't the guide, maybe it was the hat. Anyway, friends that went along, went out in the afternoon, because my wife and I had to get on the road. They pulled in a 34 pounder. Our guide said it was the biggest that he has ever pulled from the lake. If I recall, the record for lake Ontario is around 45 pounds.

First congratulations are in order for both of you. I used to fish there a lot out of the Little Salmon river, a guy I used to work with had a new 1989 26 foot Starcraft Islander and a 33 foot Jayco trailer parked up there. We would leave from the shop on Friday afternoon and return Sunday night, it was a little under 4 hours from here. In the 90 Easter Seals spring fishing contest we won 2nd place for brown trout and 3 of us split 1400. dollars with a 14.75 pound brown trout caught in front of the power plant. Now we are coming in to prime salmon season the salmon are stacked in front of the rivers waiting to go up river soon. We did steelhead in February also in the little salmon river but it's way to cold.............

For cooking, I put a little olive oil in a pan and then sea salt, pepper, garlic, oregano and/or rosemary, then fry till done.
If you mean prepare for catch, I know we were trolling the lures around 2 mph at a depth of around 135 ft. I forget what the trout was caught on, but the salmon was caght using the lure pictured in my hand.

BL - the 34 pounder that my friends caught should have been this week, they are having a tournament with a $25,000 total purse and I am sure they would have gotten a share.
We were just north of the power plant, it was hazy and you could just make out the outline of teh cooling towers.
