Parts, Parts, Parts......we need to figure out what the insurance companies do with these wrecks. Motors, hardtops, outriggers. It would be an awesome boneyard.

They sell them to boat yards that either peice them out or just fix the boat and sell them. The title should state that its a salvage boat so anyone who purchases it will know.

This was the Galveston Yaght Club's dry stack. A couple hundered boats in there. Burnt before the storm hit. The surge prevented firefighters from getting there.

Saw on network news where they'd taken front-end loaders and SHOVED several 30-50'ers off the interstate goin' into Galveston to clear the way...

This used to be a great site to browse for insurance and boatyard sales till they added piles of sailing supplies.

had a friend that worked for tow boat us that went to mississippi after Katrina, he said the same thing. took a chain saw and cut the motor off the transom. loaded them in one dumpster, crushed the hulls & loaded them in another. these were the boats insured by towboat us. seems like a waste. he said they used to store them on a yard & try to sell salvage parts ,etc. but during opal they lost money and this was actually more profitable.
