maury , mine are 3/4 marine plywood , bottoms and back rests they are solid no flexs at all and the backs are held on with nylon push pin clips * *kinda hard to discribe
iam goin to the boat in a lil while i will snap some pics

Yea, the backs are attached with "double end christmas tree fasteners" I have yet to find any place to purchase them as most of mine are broken. The seat is the part I have questions about.

HEY lumber, Hance & Smith on Bay Ave. Manihawkin had a used (very new looking) set of buckets just inside there showroom in the beginning of the season. Proberly off a Mako or Parker boat ;D Crusher

flounder the bottom seats are mounted to the consol , there is a piece of 5/4 x3 mahogany that is bolted to consol and the seat just sets on the 5/4 and is held down with a stainless steel wing nut

Wouldn't treated 3/4" plywood work best for remakin' seat backs/bottoms?...that's what I made my under-dash bulkheads and seat-boxes out of in "99 ... time and water have had ZERO effect on 'em ;) ...


And tell your upholsterer you want him to use STAINLESS STEEL staples ... Lowes has 'em ;) no ''runnin' rust" staple stains 8) ...

My feeling on treated plywood reel is that it delaminates quickly and seem to buckle if you dont nail it down quick
