You are right! We are eating some really expensive fish! But the fish haven't gotten down here yet either. In a month we'll be able to get 29 in an hour without riding all over the place too. The weather has just been too mild to get the bait moving south.

Slot - I don't know what I'm gonna do. I think you're right about the fill and pickup. Its been a little while since I looked in the inspection plates, but I'm thinking the rear one doesn't allow you access to any part of the fuel tank due to a bulkhead in between. Makes sense for the pickup to be in the rear.

I'll just have to take a look when I have time. Thanks for the input.

Hey Blue, you troll on the big motor or your kicker?

Big motor. These fish seemed to like anywhere from 6 - 8 mph :o

Or maybe we were just foul hooking them in the mouth ;D

I mainly took my kicker just in case I got way up on a bar on the way out, or if I lost power at a bad time, ran out of gas near the ramp etc.

Anything else I would just call sea tow. I thought about using the kicker for trolling, but I have greater control with the big motor as far as turning and staying on a school goes.

BTW - the last day when it was rough I didn't fill up at the end of the day since we wouldn't be going back out, but I bet I had less than 10 gallons left. I was showing one bar on the yamaha fuel guage. Matter of fact we ran right past the best batch of diving birds of the trip because it was getting late and so little fuel I didn't think it was worth the risk....Two Moons stopped and saw one fish boated but couldn't get a bite so I made the right decision. ;)

Negatory - one of the last regular old 2-stroke carburated work horse. 2004 model.

I love my motor. 8)

Aaaah, now I got it. I was wondering how you used that much fuel. Yep, I love my carbed 2 stroker as well. I try to keep life simple as possible.

I like your high top with the soft upper window in the front. Does it hold the water out OK and how is it in the wind? Do you like it and if so, where'd you get it?

Thanks - Scott
Oregon-V20,

Thanks for the compliments.

It holds the water out "ok". It doesn't have any velcro or around the snaps and zippers so if you take a wave over the bow, some water will come in. As for spray, it handles that fine.

I love the enclosure. I hope it holds up for a few more years. I paid $500 for it and bought if from a member of the board here (Franco). He moved to Florida where there's no need for enclosures.

You just gotta keep an eye out. A few people on here have scored tops and enclosures for pretty cheap. Phester's one of em. ;) I think he found it on eBay. Correct me if I'm wrong Phes.

Hope this helps.

Blue

Thanks T!

I think I'm gonna remember that shortcut for a while! It really trims off some time. I think it takes off right around 3 miles!

Preciate the offer on the bungalo at Pirates Cove too ;)

We normally stay in Nags Head. Have stayed in the same house the past 2 trips. Huge house. 2 of the bedrooms sleep 4 a piece and I think it has 3 or 4 more bedrooms! Also pool outside (who cares, its December) and pool table inside. Got it for $650.

Hope all is well for you. Your boat isn't in the shop is it?

Later,
Blue
