Spere, I agree 100%. I don't know why they decided on using a plastic gear.

That's what me and my buddy, who's Merc it was that blew couldn't figure out...why Merc didn't just offer a metal replacement...sounds easy enough to me...it ain't rocket science or somethin'...

I have two 1986 150 Yamahas on my 250 Sportsman, neither one has the oil injection. It seems something electrical in the ecu got fried and they kept overfilling the engine tank. After two weeks of screwing with it i pitched all tanks out and removed the gear drive and have premixed ever since then.
