In my years of boating and automotive experience I have tried and tested many wax and finish care compounds...after years of extensive testing using blind and double blind techniques the obvious choice or waxes is ..........one that somebody else applies for you ;)

I use this method on the V20 and my other bay boat. First, apply Stain Away to the area. This caustic formula can be sprayed on and just wipe off the area. Pay attention to those old stains as they may now dissapear. This process opens the pores of the boat. Next, use Johnson liquid floor wax to seal in the clean boat. The floor wax can be wiped on with a towel. Use 2-3 coats of wax depending on how long you want to go without waxing again. This wax dries in about 5-10 minutes, so you can just keep going until you are finished the whole boat. I do this on both the interior and exterior of the boats. This method was taught to us by the owner of the marina here in SE Louisiana.

I have a bumpr sticker that says don't wash this boat!! It may fall apart!

When someone comes up with a real easy way to get rid of all 30 layers of bottom paint, I might think about waxing!

I think you will be happy with the results. Good luck. Let me know if you find Stain Away. I have had trouble in the past. Ace Hardware carries it by the my fishing camp. I don't know if that is just because of the area (large commercial fishing village) or if all Ace Hardwares carry it. You might want to check Lowe's or HDepot as well. I am sure that other products exist that do the same thing if you can't find it.

I have owned my v20 since mid april and today was the first time that I waxed her. Well let me tell ya, you've gotta be somewhat of a contorsionist to wax out that bow. I'm doing a limbo sorta thing, I'm upside down,I'm lefty,I'm righty, hanging on the bow rail w/ one hand, buffing rag in the other. The end result is that I'm a happy man,it looks nice

LOL Phester! I've waxed one and it does take all of the limbs working together to do it properly!
