Its great you want to rehab this boat, but what is the motivation behind this?

You trying to make money?? You going to use it?? Whats the use for??
You might be better to take all that cash and redo the 18 you have now!
Then you can be salt or fresh.

believe me that I am not picking on you!! Just you went from on exstream to the other in like a week?

Good Luck with this boat!!

wow..i didnt know my boat purchases or lack of purchases was so troubling to you mj.....i dont owe you an explanation of my choices in life but i'll give you one anyway..

i couldnt tow the v20 back...nough said..you know the reasons behind it...

i've been wanting one of these lil classics ever since seen a website about them a couple months ago.....seemed like a great winter project and hobby...i'm not confused i know exactly what i want ....i wanted that V20..but i couldnt have it...when i found this one..i bought it, doesnt seen extreme to me, its xmas and its my present to myself....also it was only 5 miles from me...i threw on new tires and towed it home..no probs....its sitting in my driveway.

it only cost $50..boat , motor and trailer...$50 wont do crap for my 18 ...i'm not trying to make money off this..........my plan is to sell the 18 here in Va. and with the money from it buy a V20 for salt water use.....this glasspar is going to be freshwater use in lakes and rivers and most likely my catfishin boat...depending on the level of restoration.

HeII yeah Kan-Man I'd bought that puppy in a southern minute too. $50 isn't crap. but over $150 they could have kept it. I want a 1920's to 1930's 20 to 24 ft wooden boat from Detroit Boat Works but they are hard to find. i know what ya mean about seeing one and wanting it. I saw a 21 ft outboard version in Ill. but didn't buy it and still kick my butt weekly for not. may the rebuild power be with you. if you need old parts for thatmotor let me know i have tons of NOS parts for Mercurys.

I wasn't hoping on you for buying it!! Just wondering were you were going with it??

I had never heard you say you wanted a small fresh water boat?? And then you were looking at a V20, then did a 360*!

Was not trying to argue at all!! Not trying to say you lost your mind! (But maybe you have),

Just trying to see were you were heading thats all.

I am going to move this to the Sensitive thread!! ;)

I love those old boats. I'd have to buy it too for $50, shoot.

I like your truck too, I have the EXACT same one.

Looks like fun Kajun, I done one similar to that a long time ago.

I hate to see the 18 go...breaks my heart! :-[

I wish you were close, I may know someone who would buy it. :'(

Keep it in the family. ;D

Nice little inland lake boat. I would not put too much($) into her though. *Then again maybe there is a market for them. *Billy Mac *;D

stink...i havent got rid of the 18 just yet.....i still may end up stripping the lil boat down of hardware and then junking it......when i went to buy this i actually just wanted the motor...something i could tinker with this winter..then throw in the back of my truck and tow the 18 south......but if i can sell the 18 here..i'll have cash for a v20 when i get to FL... thats my plans ..but they change on a daily basis.

i think it'll be fun to tinker with and learn on... i've never done floor or transom work....time to learn...a big thing is it fits in my garage with plenty of room to work around...i dont want to throw too much $ into this boat....but i really dont think it will take much to do a restore on it...maybe 1 or 2k for total restore....will prob just concentrate on the motor this winter......then decide if i want to tow the hull down south....until then..i'll drink lots of beer while working on it and try to have fun doing it.
