I thought the idea of flushing the motor was to get rid of the salt, silt and other foreign material that you don't want in the motor?
Using a barrel like that to flush only recirculates it thru the motor. Muffs allow a constant supply of fresh clean water to remove whats inside. Just my 2 cents worth.
