As a cop I can tell you, PRESS CHARGES. Imagine if in life you could take whatever you wanted. If you got caught you only had to give it back? There would be twice the thievery !!
When I was in my twenties I had a college degree and a good paying job. I wasn't smoking weed or Lord knows what they are into. I say make them pay. Just my .02
