My '88 has a similar fishbox. There is a drain that goes directly to the bilge (which gets plugged), but there is also a bilge pump with a hose that exits near the top rear of the box. The hose then routes above the tank and eventually connects to the same starboard hull drain as my rear floor drain. Works great.
