When I did mine, I pulled ALL the old wires out except between the control box and the motor...it's really easier than tryin' to figure out somebody else's mess... ::)

BS, that's a first class job...you really DO know your stuff... :D

Labii - I bought a 12 x 24" 1/8" FRP sheet from McMaster Carr. After removing the old panel I traced the shape and cut out the holes. Then I sanded, primed, and painted the new panel a flat black color.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

www.mcmaster.com

8494K61
Premium Fiberglass (FRP) Sheet 1/8" Thick, 12" Width X 24" Length, Tan
In stock at $22.42 Each

---------------------------------------------------------------------
The switches and fuses came from prefab (west marine) panel; however there are tons of good ebay deals for switches and push button breakers.

Oh yeah - the placement of the battery switch was great, but the position of the terminal post on the panel is very bad.

I eventually moved it over to the left, b/c I noticed some chaffing from the post on the red wire.

No Problem Labii!!

Jaysea - a rubber boot would have been the smart thing to do, but I never got one . . . I just moved the post to the left where the wire couldn't be chafed by the post.

I'm very impressed with your work. Can I see a closeup of the back side of the new panel? If it can't be posted here because of it's size, you could email it to me. I have DSL, so I won't have a problem with a big file. Don't take another picture for this reason, but...

Thanks a lot.
