I have finished repairing the wiring on my '88. I hope the picture took to the post. I bought a new post set at West Marine and kind of muddled my way through it.
As I went I was able to tell what the main supplies were ( heavier ) and what each wire seemed to be for. I went from having dicy connections and no running lights to being solidly wired in the span of about 4 hours.
