GoDaddy is cheap and they've done well for my company. If you're planning on setting up a site mainly for friends/family, images, etc. then their economy plan should do you right.

I'd suggest buying your domain and hosting service from the same company, one less bill to pay.

Just my .02... I'm sure others have had decent experiences with others.
