Way to go Shawsee.......did you have some frsh fluke for dinner???
I tried to go out tonight with my wife and kids but the seas were rough and the tidal rip off the Eastern Point of Fishers Island was quite nasty.......my wife was looking to put her life jacket on. We turned around and went to the beach. The fluke will have to wait until morning sans wife and kids.

Whale,
We haven't had the fluke yet but they are ready for the table. I wanted to take my son's friend fishing again Sunday but I have to milk cows at the dairy farm. I was contemplating Saturday but NOAA website is calling for some nasty weather so that sucks. :( Oh when we were out the other day we seen a repeat of the blues blitz you witnessed. The bluefish were going crazy on a feeding frenzy, by the time we stopped and got the lures/plugs on our rods they were gone that fast. :-/ Sean, I so much wanted to go out this weekend and fish but it will have to wait as usual. I know my son will be bummed out when his buddy tells him about our trip. I never knew I could miss someone as much as I miss my son. I surely cannot wait for his hitch in the Air Force to be over with so we can resume our family life again :)

Forecast for Long Island Sound is seas 1 ft or less in the morning......I am in an area where the NOAA forecast can vary a lot if I look at Fishers Island Sound or Block Island Sound....for Block it says 2-4 feet. In any event I will try it out.....should be OK along the RI beaches.

Update......seas were not too bad but we did a lot of rolling around this morning. The cruise out and back was fine. I think when the forecast is bad for where you normally go, you should head down to Mystic and head out in this area. Misquamicut Beach was pretty good from about 6:30-9:00. My buddy and I managed 7 keepers but it shut down after 9:00 or so. No big fish (21" max) but great ratio of keepers to shorts.....maybe 2 shorts max for every keeper. That area has been pretty steady for a while. You should give it a shot. I can give you more details on where to try but if you go on the weekend it will be obvious as there are plenty of boats around. If you get out early it is not bad.
