Non skid molded in fiberglass

I have to agree Maco I think I might be out of my league trying to match the factory molded non skid. I should simply sand out the non skid and regelcoat, than apply a canned non-skid, but for the gunnels should I sand out the non skid, and simply regelcoat sand to smooth than paint. Seems like alot of work. What have others done who had to replace the plywood under the factory non-skid. I just don't want the boat to look like a frankenstein with all these patches I need to do.
