Here's a newbie question on that...Does someone(wellcraft) own the mold rights to the v20 design? If so, and they do not want to sell, or asking too much, could you tweak it a little, say... few feet more but to scale? Appreciate your thoughts and insight. OS |

Technically, because the boat has been around for more that 10 years, you could make a copy of it. I wouldn't advise it, but the law is somewhat cloudy, it seems to only protect the design for a 10 year period from initial introduction. Why, what are you thinking? or rather, I want in. |

Hey Joe, several of us kicked around the idea of building a new V20, using and original hull as a starting point. We figured on a full transom model with a bracket, modern construction techniques ( i.e. no wood, foam filled, etc) although there will be many more ideas to come. six of us even kicked in 20 bucks each to buy lottery tickets, 6 months worth, If we win we are going to take the first million and fund the company. It's a dream, but ya gotta have dreams.

just purchased a bunch of lottery tickets today (powerball), if I hit maybe I'll fund a venture like that. Could be a ton of fun......... I would want to increase the length a few feet, plus increase the size of the tanks, need at least 100 gallon tank. |

I think he was referring to the 55 footer with something like 5 outboards hung on it, Todd - you build it, we'll test it together!!!!
