wow, you got a lot of grinding in your future. you don't say if your going to re-power or not, but if so, i'd look into going with at least a 25" transom. if you think the stringers are good, look at skunks transom rebuild using the pour method.
we love pictures here, so don't be camera shy. |

Yes I do got alot of grinding and work ahead of me to get what I'm envisioning . Far as repower I'm going to put a brand new Suzuki 150 on it. Was thinking at work today I am going to tear out floor I liked the way Kracker Jack did his rebuild also to know what going on for sure . I love the look of this boat and been out out on a couple old wellcrafts . So w that being said let the fun begin I dont want to wastefully spend but this is an investment in something I love to do and that fish in peace no worries.

I think the 70's boats did not drain overboard. If you are all-in, think about raising the deck and adding scuppers. Definitely go 25" transom.
Not sure if the 70's transoms were flat across. If so, you could do a plywood or Coosa transom easily. the later hulls have multiple angles to the transom..

Hey as long as we re spending ur money and sweat equity, go with a full transom and a bracket.
ridge runner has a sweet center console if u want to look up some of his post and there was another one. I can t remember his name. His got flipped in a bad squall and sunk at the dock. Somebody will remember. Unfortunately photobucket got greedy and lot of those pics are lost |
