So getting rid of some of these test's is not neccesarily a bad thing. And I know you're going to say, but the test's measure how effective the teacher's are. In reality they don't, all they measure is how well the kid has listened to the same test material drilled into there head over and over again while normal teaching curriculum is ignored. Teacher's now just teach the test all year long while much of the curriculum is ignored because they know it's not on the test. Teacher's have had it drilled into there heads by administration, TEACH THE TEST AND ONLY THE TEST!, that way they can get there school grade up, and get more funding. And if these test's are so great, answer me why charter schools are exempt from doing them?

Agree with ya ferm, my wife was a teacher for 15 years, school administrator for 10 years and county level administrator for 10 years, retiring in Dec. she s been on the classroom side and the management side. My daughter is a middle school civics teacher (6 years), so i hear all sides of it.
Jeb Bush and charter schools have pretty much gutted public education in florida. They feed at the public trough, but don t have to play by the public rules. Schools are being divided into the haves and the have nots. |
