(on an '84) A few inches in front of the drain plug, there is an area with plywood sandwiched between the glass specifically for mounting the bilge pump.
You can see the outline of it and you should see screw holes(or rusty broken screws) from original pump. 1/2 inch # 8 stainless screws also note, you can't mount a shoot thru hull transducer in that area due to plywood.

skunkboat , i do see screw holes in the fiberglas floorboard in front of the drain holes, just wasn't sure . all are good ideas
