bilge pump placement on 86 v20 c/c

hello
i was wondering if anyone knows for sure if the floorboard area in front of the drain hole in the bilge area is suitable for screwing down a bilge pump. it feels solid, but i want to make sure. i had a piece of starboard secured down with 5200 and it keeps coming off no matter how i clean the area underneath it.
thanks AND "MERRY CHRISTMAS"

I NEVER mount a bilge pump to the hull. I always go forward to the first stringer and mount a strip of stainless about 4-5 inches wide to that, bent in a kinda "L" configuration and then I mount the pump to that piece of metal. No worries about puncturing the hull, glue or anything else.

U can bond the starboard with West epoxy G-Flex

(on an '84) A few inches in front of the drain plug, there is an area with plywood sandwiched between the glass specifically for mounting the bilge pump.
You can see the outline of it and you should see screw holes(or rusty broken screws) from original pump.

1/2 inch # 8 stainless screws

also note, you can't mount a shoot thru hull transducer in that area due to plywood.
