ok so I made it out yesterday and hit 5400 rpm and 32 mph with the throttle hammered . I thought about it last night and this morning I adjusted the throttle cable at the motor. I couldn't adjust it too much without getting the idle turned up to high but did manage to get 5600 to 5700 rpms and 35mph . I was expecting a little more but didn't have anymore throttle to give it .. Could my cable be worn out ? It seems like I could get more RPM if I had more throttle. Or am I expecting too much out of the motor ? Again im ok with 30 mph. I don't need anymore speed ,at this point im just messing around . Randleman , How much you want for the prop ? Or would you rather I send back ? You can PM me we don't have to negotiate in public . Thank you for letting me use it ! |

I was expecting you to be able to hit 6200 rpm and close to 40 mph. Could be something is going on with the cable itself or the adjustment. Or maybe your boat is that much heavier than mine or your motor is mounted lower than needed...there are many factors. I will PM you about the prop price.

Clearly that 15x21 was the wrong prop but I would have expected the 14 x 19 would get over 6K wot and trimmed up. The V21s are set back a foot so your motor should probably be higher than a V20. Maybe a V21 guy can give advice on motor height relative to the keel. You sure you are not heavy from waterlogged foam? How does it sit in the water with no one in it? Scuppers high and dry?

That's another variable, properly adjusted trim can make a huge difference in your speed and rpm.
