Default v20 chop shop

ok so i have purchased a 74 wellcraft v20. the stringers have been redone as well as the transom. the transom has also been closed in and a bracket added. a 52 gal below deck fuel tank was part of the deal, but is not installed. ive done some researching around the internet as to the fuel tank placement. i understand this needs to be pretty much spot on or the boat will not preform right. i also have to build or buy a center console. i know the size and weight of that will also play a factor. has anyone else done this and can get me some measurements? should i find center and mover forward 6in? thats the best i can come up with from my readings. (keep in mind the bracket moves the motor about 2ft back) i know a local here in va beach that has his tank in the console but it is less gal. is that a good starting point? thanks in advance.

I can't answer the question but....
You have the tank already? so you may be limited by the shape/depth of the tank as far as moving it forward.
It was a center console/ They had tank already slightly forward compared to cuddy model so not sure you can go more forward.

Not sure about the center consoles, but didn't the 74 cuddys have saddle tanks. If so, deck might not be raised enough to allow tank under deck.

Op, some pics of what you have would shed some light

Here's a pic of how it sits. I have nothing to go on as far as previous location. This is how it came to me.

Will the tank sit between the middle stringers and not stick above them? Are there scupper holes in the hull?
What's the weight of your motor.
Does your bracket have flotation

Yes it will fit in there and there will be some room between the top of the tank and the top of the stringers. I do believe my bracket has floatation. Motor has not been purchased yet but I'm planning on a new 150hp 4 stroke. Not sure on brand yet. No scuppers in the transom. Yet. Lol.
