I have several cb's and some tube and solidstate linears. the past couple years my use has tapered off. When i was putting a couple hundred miles a day on my car i used them alot.

Back in the day of CB's I used to run heat both in my car and my home base. Every day my wife would turn the beam towards where I was working and we would talk while I drove home. Not bad when you consider that I worked 45 miles from the house....  My base station was a President *Washington* SSB (tweaked) going thru a 2000 watt linear to a White Lightning beam antenna, mounted at the top of a 65' Rohn tower with a Ham II rotor. Sweet setup if I do say so myself, (Although there were times when my neighbors didn't like me very much so I tried to limit my skipland talking to very late/ early morning so as not to disturb them.)
