Thanks everyone for all the advice. This weekend I am going to pull the fitting off the top of the tank and pump as much out as possible. I have never done this before and I want to try best I can get it completely empty. I will remember to check the vent hose and the filters. I already have the separator hooked up, but I guess there was just too much water in the tank. I'll post results.

Put the boat at an angle so everything runs to a corner..
IE one side on a ramp, jack, curb, etc and then raise or lower the tongue.
